We are marking the one year anniversary of our peer tutoring symposium by closing out this month with a recap of the event. The well attended March 2013 forum was held at Mills College, Oakland CA and sponsored by the R.A.D. Schwartz Foundation in collaboration with Oakland Unified School District and Urban Strategies Council.
The purpose of the symposium was to understand the effects of peer tutoring on literacy and school climate as well as to learn and apply peer tutoring promising practices and strategies. Furthermore, the symposium presenters (also peer tutoring practitioners) brought some peer tutoring tools to share with attendees.
Here are links to the bios of some of the presenters along with video clips of their presentations:
Thanks to all symposium participants, Urban Strategies Council and Oakland Unified School District for a successful event!
